Become a volunteer

Built by the local community, the Bouldering Wall now relies on community support to run.

It is auspiced by the Bellingen Mentor Group with support from the Hub and local community volunteers. To keep the Wall open for regular climbing sessions, we need volunteer supervisors present to

  • Keep an eye on safety

  • Take beginners through the basics

  • Make sure the session is running smoothly

If you’re a community member keen on climbing or even just a beginner who wants to keep the Wall open for our children and youth, becoming a volunteer supervisor is straightforward.

Call 02 6655 0381 or email info@belloyouthhub.net to book in or get more information. You can also just have a chat when you’re next at the Hub.

Getting started

The Hub team will prepare you for supervision, take you through the safety guidelines and how to run a climbing session. We will also connect you with follow volunteers for tips and ideas on how to supervise a session.

You can give an hour a week or even a fortnight or month. Your time is what keeps the Wall going, and we’re happy to have as much of it as you can offer.

Regular users

In order to use the Wall on a regular basis, you need to have a supervisor present. Want to make it really easy? Become a supervisor yourself!

Contact the Hub team for more information on volunteering and how to sign up.

Maintenance crew

The Wall needs occasional upkeep and maintenance. If you’ve got the time or tools, come along to one of our working bees. To join in the next gathering, keep an eye on our Home page, the Hub Facebook page or posters in the Hub or around town.

Support the Wall

The Wall is kept going through the financial & in-kind support from community donors. Find out more about how you can support the Wall. Learn more
